Executive Director’s Letter:
This month in Sculpture, you’ll find feature articles on the work of Kiki Smith and Bernar Venet, recipients of the ISC’s 2016 Lifetime Achievement in Sculpture Award. This issue also features Gianluca Bianchino’s site-specific installations at the crossroads of science, art, and chaos; Andrea Mastrovito’s evocations of the cycle of life in various media; Tomer Sapir’s cryptic creatures; and Dorie Millerson’s dramatic use of scale in her lace sculptures—plus a profile of the innovative art collection at the 21c Museum Hotels. The ISC News page (p. 80) highlights the Educator Award ceremony in Phoenix this past fall.
We have an exciting year ahead, so stay connected on the go with the Sculpture app for your smart phone and tablets. Look out for announcements on the upcoming annual conference in Pittsburgh, and check out our Web site www.sculpture.org.
