Executive Director’s Letter:
This month’s feature articles explore the work of two artists from Argentina—Adrián Villar Rojas, known for his intuitive and frequently massive installations, and Milagro Torreblanca, whose work frequently exploits language and history. Also included in this issue: Richard Wentworth’s spatial configurations of juxtaposed objects and interlocking signs, the kinetic work of renowned Dutch artist Theo Jansen, and the material investigations of Arlene Shechet, as well as an introduction to the new Japanese Garden at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids. On the subject of sculpture parks and gardens, check out page 60 for some must-see parks to visit this summer, and find even more places to visit in our Sculpture Parks and Gardens Directory at www.sculpture.org.
This month, ISC members can use a brand-new searchable database of Opportunity listings, which is far more expansive than the past print version. New features include searching, saving, printing, and e-mailing options—all available anywhere you have an Internet connection. See page 71 for more details.
