Henry Taylor: Nothing Change, Nothing Strange

Philadelphia

The Fabric Workshop and Museum

Through July 23, 2023

“Nothing Change, Nothing Strange” is the result of Henry Taylor’s 18-month residency at The Fabric Workshop and Museum, in which the artist gleaned and reused materials from the Recycled Artists in Residency program (RAIR) and collaborated with the FWM team. The immersive installation—comprising billowing monumental banners, totemic sculptures created with plastic planters, paint buckets, and vinyl siding, and an enormous handmade loom—is punctuated with the incorporation of tartan and plaid textiles, potent symbols for questioning the politics of material culture.
