From Babylon to Third and Broadway: A Conversation with Kristi Lippire

Kristi Lippire is an artist and curator who first emerged on the Los Angeles art scene in 1997 with a solo show at California State University, Long Beach. After more than 10 years of creating photographs and paintings, she recently turned to sculpture. She has had a number of solo exhibitions at area galleries, ranging from Culver City’s d.e.n. to ACE gallery, all while curating group shows such as “Kon-fownded,” at the Ojala Art Gallery. Her spring and summer “Back Yard Video” screening projects, held at her home, feature works by local artists. Three of her sculptures were included in the touring exhibition “Alexander Calder and Contemporary Art: Form, Balance, Joy,” which was shown in Paris, Chicago, and Newport Beach…see the entire article in the print version of December’s Sculpture magazine
