The International Sculpture Center, publisher of Sculpture magazine, is excited to present an interview with María Carolina Baulo and Ignacio Unrrein, the cover artist for Sculpture’s November/December 2020 issue. In this interview, conducted in Spanish and in two parts, Baulo and Unrrein discuss his process, inspirations, and materials.
María Carolina Baulo is an art historian (UBA), curator, and writer from Argentina. Baulo has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Buenos Aires (Honor Diploma). She works as a writer-critic for several national and international media specialized in contemporary art, including Sculpture magazine (U.S.A), Magazine Ñ (Argentina), Ad Versus Semiotics Magazine (Argentina), Hoornik Collection Art Magazine (Argentina), among others.
Ignacio Unrrein (Buenos Aires, 1987) graduated as an architect in 2012 from the University of Buenos Aires and has been a doctoral student in Arts at the National University of the Arts since 2015. His creative work has earned him numerous recognitions, and his projects have received the sponsorship and support of several institutions, including a National Endowment for the Visual Arts 2019 of the National Funds for the Arts and a subsidy in the frame of the Patronage – Cultural Promotion Program of the Government of the City of Buenos Aires (2015).
