Deciding to go to art school seems like an answer, but it is only the start of a series of questions. Do art schools care (and, if so, how much) about my grade point average? Should I go to an independent art school or to a liberal arts college or university that offers a studio arts degree program? What does the admissions department look for in a portfolio? Are there scholarships available for art students? Is there an office of career counseling? Are there campus activities? What do they actually teach? For prospective sculpture students, the questions only increase. Does an admissions portfolio for a sculpture student differ from one for a painter? How broadly or narrowly is sculpture defined?
